Dunnage is the experimental sound project of artist/educator Terry James Conrad and writer/producer Douglas W. Milliken.
Combining a mutual interest in collage, salvaged materials and the fissures between the natural and industrial worlds, they use unique hand-built instruments, electronic interventions, found objects and field recordings to create sonic spaces that are at once familiar and disarming.
This cassette is a document of these sound experiments running the gamut of a sound thought or moment to a fully realized song leading you on a journey to imagine where these sounds come from and how they are made. All made using instruments that are made from natural components and printmaking plates and prints or salvaged items. Some pieces were either printed on or made directly from the plates used to make the prints.
