AVLTD047
A collection of new and old pen and ink drawings from Nathaniel Russell comprised of his signature characters and text. Russell is a multi-disciplinary artist and musician based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Comes with a newsprint broadside of two images not in the book. Printed in black on newsprint grey paper.
From the artist … EVERY DAY IS LIKE SOME DAY is a collection of works on paper I’ve made in ink and graphite (among other things) from the past few years. They are drawings with words and writing with pictures, sort of my version of a newspaper comic panel. It was curated and assembled by Aventures Ltd and, to me, shows how the drawings have evolved and become connected to one other, whether through the words or lines. I view this collection as a focus on what I hold most dear: how an attempt at drawing can be a direct and immediate line to the mind and heart. Many thanks to my friends at Aventures for putting this together and having me along.
ARTIST BIO
Nathaniel Russell is an interdisciplinary artist and musician: prints, music, drawings, paintings, murals, sculpture, posters, books and illustrations. Born and raised in Indiana, he spent several years in the San Francisco Bay Area after college. Returned to his hometown of Indianapolis, he spends his time creating drawings, prints, sculptures and music. Russell's work is regularly exhibited around the world in both traditional galleries and informal spaces. Russell's art is both direct and subtle, working with language and graphic elements to create memorable images and stories that can be humorous or deeply sad. Russell is also involved in numerous collaborations and projects including murals, printmaking workshops and music performances.
